This is the story of fisherman Restituto Cortez del Rosario who won the 2008 Gawad Saka Presidential Award for Outstanding Fisherfolk on Fish Capture. Two, years later, Ka Resty has emerge as a fisherman-leader in Brgy. Sabong, Morong, Bataan. He helped his fellow fishermen form their organization and have it registered in order to get projects from the government and non-government organizations easily. He also advocates marine protection in their barangay. He mobilizes the youth, women, barangay officials and senior citizens to help protect the waters of Sabang.
His accomplishments were attested by his fellow fishermen and a volunteer in his community. Ka Resty found brighter oppurtunities besides being a fisherman, a trader and evetually an active marine environmentalist in his own community.
