I am Deepanjana Klein, International Head for South Asian, Modern and Contemporary Art at Christie's. There are several artists, with such great talent are coming out of India. If you look at contemporary art, you have excellent works of artists like A. Balasubramaniam, Ranjani Shettar, N.S Harsha and other known names like Subodh Gupta, Bharti Kher. New generations are coming out constantly. For Eg - Rana Begum, her works were not known till a few years ago, however you see her works in museums and in various galleries, just to name a few of them. Don't forget the undiscovered modernist as well. They are modernists who are not necessarily commanding prices like Tyeb Mehta or M.F Hussain today, but these are modernists who did great work and they are very affordable. For example- You can look at Prabhakar Barwe or Ara. These artists are very affordable and definitely worth looking at.
