I usually work layer after layer on canvas, starting specially coating it with black and edging out forms over and over with layered of colours. I have always done abstracts in oils and in this particular series of Palate Scapes, I have tried to capture the expands of my large canvas on a very small format, but on a small space it was very challenging, how I used to build layer after layer and the intricacy of the small space working around with small instruments. I introduced a lot of dentist instruments, nail filing instruments and lot of things which I used to scratch and etch out since it was the smallest space, I tried finding out small instruments rather than my large spatula and the rollers that I usually work with the intricacy of the medium of the size, made me venture out into lot of technical things as well. My last series was “The Edge of Colour” and this is the continuation of the same series as well as the new series of the small, Palate Scapes which has come out.
