Alkenes can be formed from the Elimination reaction of halogenoalkanes and alcohols. When asymmetrical halogenoalkanes and alcohols are used, two or more alkenes can be formed.
The Saytzeff Rule, which states that the more substituted alkene is the major product, can be used to predict which alkene is the major product.
