The US State Department has confirmed that a Chinese activist harassed in China is now living in the United States.
Lu Haitao is a writer and blogger, and was detained by Chinese police last year for voicing support for blind Chinese activist Chen Guangcheng.
Lu and his wife arrived in the US on December 3rd via Taiwan. They are currently living in Washington DC.
