In this video I'm on a long traverse around Mt Bachelor and I've got a few tips for traversing on your snowboard. The first tip is to crank your highbacks forward. Having your highbacks forward will make it easier to keep your heel edge in the snow. The second tip is to ride with your body in a seated position. This helps to keep your weight balanced over your snowboard, so your edge won's slide out. The third tip is to keep your back hand over the tail of your snowboard. This will help you to balance and keep your board pointed straight. If your switch riding is good, try riding switch on your toe edge. Its much easier to traverse on your toe edge. While on your toe edge bend your knees forward to keep your edge in the snow. Your knees also absorb the pumps on the traverse. Give these tips a try and hopefully they're help you to traverse to the area you need to go.
